The Ayesha Siddiqui-Shoaib Malik saga is only getting murkier with each passing day. And with Ayesha now providing clinching evidence like the clothes she wore when she had a sexual relationship with the Pakistani cricketer and other documentary evidence to prove that the two were indeed married, there seems to be no respite for Shoaib.

The case will now be investigated by the crime station of the Hyderabad Police instead of the local Banjara Hills police, where Ayesha first filed the FIR on April 4.

ACP B Murlidhar (Anti Homicide Team, South Zone) will be investigating the case now. They will visit Ayesha's Banjara Hills residence and will collect all the evidence the Siddiquis have gathered against Shoaib Malik," Mohammed Iqbal Siddiqui, SHO, Banjara Hills said.
According to police officials, a team of investigators will visit Ayesha's home along with a team of forensic experts. "They will collect the clothes Ayesha was wearing when she and Malik shared some intimate moments.

Also, they claim to have medical evidence to prove that Ayesha had a miscarriage, which they will hand over to the cops," said a senior police inspector, requesting anonymity.

Police sources informed that all the evidence will be sent to the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) in Hydera-bad. But when MiD DAY contacted O Narsimha Murthi, director of the FSL, he said, "The police have not approached us yet seeking any assistance. However, we will do the needful as and when the samples are sent to us."

However, other forensic experts are doubtful if Ayesha's clothes will do Shoaib in.  "Why would anybody preserve her clothes for such a long period, when the relationship between the two parties was believed to be amicable? It might be done only if someone has an ulterior motive. Moreover, getting scientific evidence in such cases is almost impossible," said a forensic expert, requesting anonymity.

He added that they will examine the handwriting and conduct tests on other samples which will be sent to them. A K Khan, commissioner of police, Hyderabad said, "We are probing the case from all  angles."

When news that tennis sensation Sania Mirza is all set to marry Pakistani cricketer Shoaib Malik broke yesterday, it took the nation by surprise. Though Sania's much-publicised engagement to childhood friend Mohammed Sohrab Mirza was called off in March, her relationship with Malik was kept under the wraps.

As the media went abuzz with reports of Sania and Shoaib's engagement, which were later denied by Sania's family, Farisa Siddiqui, the mother of Ayesha Siddiqui, the Hyderabadi girl who the cricketer was allegedly married to in 2002 was shocked.

'Breaking news'
"This is breaking news for me. I can't believe what TV channels are airing. I will speak to Sania's mother and get a confirmation about the marriage. I am shocked," Farisa told MiD DAY from her Banjara Hills residence.

When asked about Ayesha's reaction to Shoaib tying the knot, Farisa said, "My daughter and husband are not at home and will return later today. There is too much happening for me to comprehend."

The family had pressed the player to give a formal divorce in February 2008, after Shoaib claimed that there was no 'nikah' between Ayesha and him.

According to Ayesha's mother, she attended Sania's engagement last July and was invited by Sohrab's family, "I'm not associated with the Mirzas (Sania's family) in anyway." Farisa was not just upset, but also angry about the Sania-Shoaib alliance. "I can't believe this girl (Sania). She has seen what happened to my daughter, it was all over the news. Despite this she got involved with this man (Shoaib). It's sad that she's getting married to him; it's strange," she said, adding that she would have a word with Sohrab's family to find out why the engagement with Sania was called off.

Malik on Twitter Thanks for all your support. And the news of me marrying to Sania is true. Inshallah will get married in April.
